When did you join the Decoding Dyslexia North Carolina Board? August 2023

Why did you decide to join the DDNC Board? So I can help dyslexic youth and adults secure remediation, help dyslexic individuals learn how to celebrate their differences, and finally to impact the state on the topic of dyslexia. 

Who inspired you to learn more about dyslexia? My daughter – who is currently 19 and has discovered her passion. 

What is the best piece of advice you have received on your dyslexia journey? Celebrate your differences! 

What is one piece of advice you would like to give others? Try and be patient with your learning. Reading and processing information isn’t a race but a journey, but this is so much easier to say/type than realize.
