In this season of giving, your support for Decoding Dyslexia North Carolina (DDNC) will make a powerful difference for children, parents and teachers who need the meaningful assistance that we can provide.
DDNC is a grassroots movement driven by North Carolina families, educators and professionals concerned with limited access to educational interventions for dyslexia in North Carolina public schools. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit.
Dyslexia is a language processing disorder that can hinder reading, writing, spelling and sometimes even speaking. It is a lifelong challenge that people are born with. Dyslexia is also very common, affecting 20 percent of the population and representing 80-90 percent of all those with learning disabilities.
(Sally Shaywitz, Overcoming Dyslexia)
DDNC is a volunteer organization, run by an unpaid Board of Directors.
We’re working hard to provide children, parents and teachers with urgently needed resources, and gifts of any amount are needed and greatly appreciated.
